Obesity is a Risk factor for several types of Cancer
Article by Angela Haldane
Obesity was found to be associated with several types of cancer in Czech Republic case-controlled study involving data from the National Cancer Registry and Preventative Oncologic Checkup database. Malignant tumours are the second leading cause of death in Czech Republic.
Results of this study show that obese men had an increased risk of colorectal or kidney cancer while obese women had an increased risk of endometrial cancer. These results suggest that carrying extra weight, especially to the point of obesity, may increase the risk of developing cancer. Therefore prevention of obesity plays a part in prevention of cancer.
Natural therapies and herbal remedies can play a large and effective role in preventing obesity AND cancer. See your registered naturopath or health practitioner for more guidance.
